Dogs
The people of Pittwater really love their dogs as they encourage us to get out and about enjoying our beautiful environment. Walking your dog is great socially for yourself and your pet, as there is always something to chat about with a fellow dog owner. Dogs enrich their owner’s lives and there is nothing better than coming home at the end of a long day, to a happy, waggy tail!
We strongly recommend all dogs have a yearly health check and vaccination.
Dogs have a C5 vaccination every three years and a KC plus C2 vaccination yearly. This is often combined with a Yearly Heartworm Injection.

At Pittwater Animal Hospital we offer a free Puppy Health Check where we examine your new pet carefully for any health problems, review their vaccinations and preventative health treatments and recommend a treatment and feeding schedule tailored to your individual pet. Puppies are all different depending on their breed, age and temperament. 6 week old pups often sleep for hours with small bursts of activity, whereas 16 week old puppies are full of energy and need plenty of activity and lots of good food.

Our puppy classes can teach you how to relate to your new pet, to create a positive bond between you and your dog. We try to encourage good behavior and distract from behavior we don’t want to develop. Our aim in these classes is to help your dog become as confident and settled as possible. We know that a little bit of effort at this age can reap years of reward and excellent companionship.

Preventative Health Review. At Pittwater Animal Hospital, we have been treating your pets on the Northern Beaches for over 50 years. We know what works best to keep your pet healthy and happy.
Ask for a Preventative Health Review at your next yearly health check and vaccination. We can send reminders via text message to your mobile phone. (Optional)
C7 Vaccinations and KC + C2 Vaccinations. We recommend your dog be examined by a veterinarian every year. This is the time when vaccinations are updated, weight recorded and discussed and small problems identified. Our vaccinated pets are healthier and better cared for because they have these regular visits. It may also be time for their Yearly Heartworm Injections.
As your dog ages we run various health programs to suit their changing needs.
Surgical Procedures. This page shows how we run our hospital procedures for the morning. Our facilities allow us to do all sorts of complex operations that may be needed to keep your dog healthy and mobile.
