Pearl looks at the world in a different way
This is the beautiful Pearl. She is a 2-year-old Australian Kelpie cross. When you first look at Pearl you you would think she is just an ordinary kelpie but she actually has hidden talents. Pearl was born deaf and can only vaguely see out of one eye, (her left). Pearl should have been a very troublesome puppy, as dogs with limited senses can be very hard to communicate with.
Pearl responds amazingly to touch commands. More intimate than sign language she is very receptive to a gentle touch. This is a real superpower for Pearl – she is a very gentle dog.
Today Pearl is definitely looking at the world in a different way. One of her ears has developed an impressive ear infection. Under the microscope malassezia yeasts are piling on top of one another. 
The hot, humid Sydney Summer has wreaked havoc on our dog’s ears.
Pearl was very gentle and patient as we cleaned up her ear and started on some twice daily ear ointment. We are sure she will be back to normal in no time.
