Puppy School at Pittwater Animal Hospital is run by Veronica from Canine Concepts in our purpose built puppy training yard and room.
Classes are held on Mondays.
Veronica has a wonderful reputation as a puppy trainer on the Northern Beaches.
Veronica is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), an internationally recognised accreditation from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (www.ccpdt.org). She holds a Certificate in Dog Training and Behaviour (through renowned trainers Steve & Vicki Austin) and is a certified Puppy Class Instructor.
Veronica is passionate about helping owners to build their relationship with their treasured pets, particularly throughout the exciting but sometimes challenging puppy phase. Training helps build and maintain the bond between pet and owner, provides all important mental and physical stimulation, and enables your dog to learn while they are having fun. Methods are positive, rewards based with a focus on rewarding desired behaviour while preventing undesired behaviours from becoming established.
She has been involved with dogs for over 20 years, and currently lives with two dogs, Georgie the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, and Chip the Border Collie.
Veronica has successfully competed in dog obedience and holds several obedience qualifications and titles, and has spent many years volunteering as an instructor at local obedience clubs. She holds Accredited Professional Dog Trainer membership of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia (www.apdt.org.au).
Continuing her commitment to ongoing professional development, in 2022 Veronica fulfilled a long-held goal to study under Professor Susan G. Friedman, PhD, completing the “Living & Learning With Animals” (Science & Technology of Behaviour Change) course through www.behaviorworks.org to further her knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis. She regularly attends seminars, conferences and training courses to maintain and update her knowledge.
