Have you noticed your dogs snuffling out in the backyard at night?

One of the joys of early summer on the Northern Beaches is the cicada noise during the day. During the night time these fascinating insects burrow up from the ground to find a place to shed their skin. Some dogs become obsessed with cicadas.

Neville is in cicada heaven during the night. Snuffling and chewing.

The cicadas that Neville misses hatch out and are making noises the next day.

Neville doesn’t seem any worse for wear but is looking rather portly and does spend his days lazing about digesting.

Ah… the cicada season….
