Visit from Baby Roo
The wonderful carers and vets from Sydney Wildlife Mobile Care Unit are regular visitors to Pittwater Animal Hospital. Our inhouse blood machine is a valuable tool for monitoring health in wild animals.
Little Roo came in to have a blood test to monitor her anaemia. Young kangaroos and wallabies can have a seizure disorder which commonly effects fostered animals. The marker for this problem is low red blood cell level.
Roo is taking medication three times daily to control the seizures. When her red blood cell levels normalize it will be time to start weaning off medication.
