✈️ Pet Export & AQIS Certification
International Travel for Pets Starts Here – Plan Early!
Pittwater Animal Hospital is a preferred AQIS-accredited pet export veterinary clinic based in Northern Sydney. We’ve been helping local families prepare pets for international travel for over a decade.
Whether you’re moving overseas or planning a temporary relocation, it’s essential to begin preparations well in advance—some requirements take months to complete.
🕒 Timing is Everything
Many countries require specific vaccinations, blood tests, parasite treatments, and strict timelines. If the paperwork or protocols aren’t followed exactly, your pet may not be allowed to travel.
To avoid heartbreak and delays, please fill out the form as early as possible, even if you don’t yet have all the details. We can help flag if you’re cutting it too close.
🧾 We Will Need to Know:
-
Which pet export company you’re using (essential!), or if you’re organising it yourself
-
What type of animal is travelling
-
Which country your pet is going to
-
Your expected departure date and method of travel
-
What vaccinations your pet has already had (and if you have records)
-
Whether you’re planning to return your pet to Australia in future
👩⚕️ Dr Heidi Furber – AQIS Program Coordinator
Dr Heidi oversees all AQIS-related services at Pittwater Animal Hospital and has many years of experience managing complex travel requirements for dogs and cats.
We can coordinate with your pet transport company, ensure your documentation is in order, and help you meet the exact requirements of the country you’re travelling to.
If you’re organising export independently, note that the final veterinary check must be completed by a government vet—typically arranged at the airport. Transport agents usually handle this, but we can guide you if you’re doing it solo.
