Dr Heather Russell joined the Pittwater Animal Hospital team in 2025 in a part-time role, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her. In addition to her work at PAH, Heather is the Hospital Superintendent at NEVS, our trusted local emergency service, bringing with her more than two decades of Emergency and Critical Care experience.
Heather began her career as a GP vet on a small island off the coast of England before moving into the busy world of emergency medicine, where she has spent most of her professional life. Her extensive Emergency and Critical Care background has already proven invaluable at PAH. As a large practice with a varied and often complex caseload, we regularly see unwell animals who benefit from Heather’s calm approach and depth of clinical knowledge.
One of the things Heather enjoys most about PAH is the warm, collegiate atmosphere and the wonderful clients who clearly adore their pets and want the very best for them. She often comments on how rewarding it is to work in a community that values good veterinary care.
Although some routine GP tasks are newer to her after many years in emergency, Heather is an exceptionally quick learner and has quickly become a highly respected member of the team.
