Tail Troubles
This is Chevy. He is a 5 year old German Shorthaired Pointer. He looks worried for a reason.
Just before Christmas he was riding in the back of a ute when part of the tail gate broke and he fell onto the road going 80km per hour. Chevy was miraculously unscathed apart from one area… his tail. Chevy had fractured his tail in 3 separate places and it was very sore and lacerated. Broken tails are very debilitating and can take months heal. Sometimes despite the best treatment, the end of the tail will lose blood supply and need amputation. It was decided that rather than suffering with the terrible tail wound that Chevy’s tail would be amputated straight away.
Chevy was so much happier after the surgery and recovered very quickly. 2 weeks later the external sutures were removed and Chevy can start practicing wagging his smaller but very handsome tail. Explore all our interesting posts
